Mothers' day!!!!

Today is mothers’ day and I want to wish the best mum in the world happy mothers’ day!!!!!!!!!!

Who fed me from her gentle breast?
And hushed me in her arms to rest
And on my cheeks sweet kisses prest?
My mother

When sleep forsook my open eyes
Who was it sung me sweet hushaby
And rocked me that I should not cry?
My mother

Who sat and watched my infant head
When sleeping on my cradle bed
And tears of sweet affection shed?
My mother

When pains and sickness made me cry
Who gazed upon my heavy eyes?
And wept for tears that I should die?
My mother

Who drest my doll in clothes so gay
And taught me pretty how to play
And minded all that I had to say?
My mother

Who ran to help me when I fell?
And would some pretty story tell
Or kiss the place to make it well?
My mother

Who taught my infant lips to pray?
And love God’s holy book and day
And walk in wisdom’s pleasant ways?
My mother

Ah! No the thought I cannot bear
And if God please my life to spare
I hope I shall reward thy care?
My mother

When thou art feeble, old and gray
My healthy arms shall be thy stay
And I will soothe thy pains away
My mother

And when I see thee hang thy head
Twill be my turn to watch thy bed
And tears of sweet affection shed
My mother

For God who lives above the skies
Would look with vengeance in his eyes
If I should ever dare despise
My mother

Trust me I was a very stubborn kid when I was growing, I even though I was adopted and I was hopefully waiting for my real parents to come for me because I saw my mum as too strict but hey! Everything I learnt is so useful to me now. Even with my multiple wahala my mum never cursed me for one day. Mama when I hammer, I pray you are well and alive to enjoy the fruits of your labour. I love you more than I tell you I do mama!

Words on Marble

. Always behave like the duck, keep calm and unruffled on the surface but paddle like the devil underneath
. Sometimes people come into your life just to teach you something and when you have learnt you move on
. You can’t change the past, you can’t control the future, you only have the present so make the best of the time you have now
. When you ignore little things, they are the little pieces of rocks that build up to become a mountain you can’t easily break down
. It is not the years in your life that matters but the life in your years. Life is not a race to the finish; it is a race to the prize
. There are no guarantees in life, just promises and whispers
. Trust is the only way we’ll ever find out what tomorrow holds
. Nothing is forever but there is a continuing stream of people who go through our lies and continue with us. Nothing just stops and stays but it flows like a river
. Love is like playing the piano, first you must learn to play by the rules, and then you must forget the rules and play by heart

Cursum Perficio

Latin

Cursum perficio.
Verbum sapienti:
quo plus habent,
eo plus cupiunt.
Post nubila, Phoebus
Iternum

English

I finish the course.
A word to the wise:
the more [people] have,
the more they want.
After the clouds, Phoebus

this song by Enya was inspired by an inscription found in the portico of Marilyn Monroe's last home, "My journey ends here". I so love the song. Read about Marilyn Monroe here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marilyn_Monroe

MATURE MINDS TALK: 20 SIGNS YOU MIGHT BE A SEX ADDICT

MATURE MINDS TALK: 20 SIGNS YOU MIGHT BE A SEX ADDICT

Sad!!!!!!!!

Am so so sad right now and nobody should try to console me. I did a hard reset of my phone this morning and the next thing I discovered is that my pictures and music are nowhere to be found. I don't use a memory card and that makes it worse. This phone has been acting funny in recent times and am not used to touch screen to ditch this for my sony xperia, besides the expensive data charges *i wonder when wifi will be free in Nigeria* the pictures didn't pain me as much as my enya and Osadebe collection; *wipes tears* I've been forming robocop since but the reality Is just dawning on me. Nawa oh
Anyway aside from that, let's talk about some wrong beliefs we were fed as kids because yesterday I was teaching the kids about rocks and they said when they were in basic four, their teacher told them that the last egg a snake lays turns to diamond *rotflmao* I remember my mum used to say women can't eat gizzard, the truth is I didn't taste gizzard till I was 18, omo, after I tasted it it was like I found a new love oh!
Another is I remember my mum used to tell me that when I wash onugbu (bitterleaf) I should throw away the water far away because if I cross it, my veejay will be paining me *sigh* well, I crossed the water several times self and nothing happened.
Another my yoruba friend used to tell me was that if I sneezed, it means I was being gossiped about somewhere! Kai! So much for ignorance
She also said if I hit my left foot against the stone it means I'll have a bad day! Lmao she said I shouldn't look at mirror at night, I can't remember why. Oya, over to you. What lie(s) were you told as a kid?
I remember the grand lie! That if you add water from the beach and water from the tap together, it will be 'fighting' lwkmd.

Heart to Heart

The issue I want to write about is one that has been on my mind since I became a teenager. Africans generally see sex as something sinful, something responsible children should not talk about yet all of us are products of sex, except your mama na virgin Mary oh.
We all know the primal need of most men is the need to ejaculate, the little kids we think are innocent are trying skills not even listed in kama sutra yet we don’t like to talk about sex oh! Most of us have lots of porn magazines and CDs stashed away in our secret hideout yet we like to pretend.
Seriously sometimes I wonder and imagine how those pastors make out *covers face* I try to imagine the look on their faces when they are in the throes of orgasm *runs away*
Back to the matter, what is really bugging me is marrying as a virgin and relationship and sex. I’d rather this post is interactive so I will not bore you with long stories. One thing I know is the fact that my cherry has been popped doesn’t mean I am a whore and the fact that I am still a virgin doesn’t mean I am holy.
Why do guys like to harp on the “if you love me why not have sex with me line?” after all the ladies of the red light district have sex with different men without emotions attached so why use sex as a wager sort of?
Enough of me, any big deal marrying a virgin? Is sex essential to the growth of a relationship? Make we relate oh………………………………………..

ANNIVERSARY

Five months ago, a baby was born, the gender of the baby? Neuter! Lmao. Hey sweethearts, today my blog is five month old! This whole thing started like a joke and there was a point I felt like giving up because the encouragement I thought was going to come from my numerous friends didn’t come. I still had to beg and coerce them to read my blog oh! Looking back today, all I do is bless God. Five months down the line I’ve met the most amazing people online, I hope one day we will sit and share a drink though. I want to specially thank all the anonymous that visit but don’t comment, I want to thank yours truly, uje, chidinma, buiti, mayowa, imannie, tope Saliu, adesewa, toyosi, petite, and others, mr anonymous too even though he has gone AWOL for three months, I hope he is fine.
TOUN ADEOYE, you remain a huge inspiration to me!
Time to pop champagne to celebrate! Lol lol.

Today fresh graduates will report in various camps for the NYSC orientation and my bestie Tope Saliu is among, it should have been both of us going to camp together today but for reasons best known to UNAAB, my department wasn’t mobilized. Well, I wish all of you a hitch free orientation and ijeoma to your various camps!

QUICK POST

I just had to steal time out of my working hour to wish aunty Mowunmi of journalofapetitediva.blogspot.com a merry and happy birthday! May all your wishes come true! Bless

HOW LONG MOTHERLAND?

Arise, O compatriots,
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our Fatherland
With love and strength and faith.
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.

O God of creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.

Everyday we wake up to news of the havock boko haram insurgents are wrecking in parts of Nigeria. My hear bleeds whenever stuffs like this happen and am beginning to ask myself if the supposed labour of our heroes past are not in vain already. This is not the Nigeria our founding fathers laid a foundation for. The so called politicians only care about their pockets! I read in a newspaper where the governor said he shunned Nigeria's centenary to pay back Jonathan and I asked myself if governance has been reduced to people playing quasi-god! Its so sad that people we voted for don't care even though they put advertorials in news print flaunting "projects" they just launched. Someone tell these governors the leaders in advanced countries don't do such. Why put it in our face that a project was successfully completed? the advert money is from whose account? Tax payers? Northern governors are trading blames, passing the buck to the president. Yeah, the president is the grand commander of the armed forces of the federal republic but then I ask, what effort have these so called governors made in their states to tackle the insurgents? They arm jobless youth to help them win elections, after elections these people become a thorn in their flesh. Am just tired of it all. Innocent kids are being gunned down in their prime! Why did the governor of adamawa flee to safety the other day? Why did he not wait? I reaLly hope soon.........we'll find a solution to this because the land is filled with blood of the innocent. If boko haram is facing corrupt politicians, then I won't have a problem with this. The question now is how much is one's life worth in Nigeria?

FIRST BLOG AWARD

Am so excited! Uje (ujesta.blogspot.co.uk) nominated me for the LIEBSTER AWARD. I’ve seen other bloggers receive this award and I’ve been hoping that
one day I’ll be nominated and here we are.
Just a few information about the award:
This award exists only on the internet, and is given to bloggers by other bloggers
It has German origin
The word ‘LIEBSTER’ has several meanings e.g. dearest, sweetest, kindest, beloved, kind, valued, etc
It follows similar principles as a chain letter, i.e. it should be passed forward to a certain number of people (mine is 12)
The choice lies within each of us to accept it, and continue to forward it or refuse to accept it, thereby interrupting the chain
Marketing plays a role in accepting this award as other bloggers are promoted.

It is said that the Liebster award was created to recognize and/or discover new bloggers and welcome them to the blogosphere.

APOLOGIES

Hey sweethearts, am so so sorry I’ve not blogged in a while, I’ve been so busy! Like extremely busy!! Since I wouldn’t be going for service in March, I decided to get a job instead of staying idle at home and trust me, it’s been tasking!
I checked my page views sometimes in the week and I saw 6000+ page views and this blog is barely 5 months old. Am so wow-ed, Infact I don’t know what to say but I want to thank everybody who visits my blog religiously (you know yourselves), I appreciate those who always remind me that I’ve not updated anything new in a while, sweethearts, am so sorry, na work cause am.
Enough of my ramblings. Today is a new day of a new month and I just discovered that I didn’t read any book last month and that’s kind of strange, well, I got a new book yesterday though and I hope to start reading it as soon as time permits me. Asides the fact that I didn’t read a new book in February, I was reminiscing (I do that often) and I started to feel some void in my life. I miss having someone to fuss over and someone to fuss over me, I miss the university life, I miss my friends, asides that, I remember writing some things in my diary some 8, 9 years ago, well, time has passed and things didn’t go the way I thought they will. I hoped to graduate at 21, get married at 23, blah blah blah; I didn’t graduate at 21, am 23 and am not married, well, I don’t regret that part though because time has changed what marriage meant to me when I was a teenager, I now see life through bright coloured glasses and not the rose tinted glasses I used to view life back then, I now know love means something different from what I thought it meant back then…………….as I kept comparing my views of then and now and I was comparing them to the lyrics of goodbye heartbreak by lighthouse family (full lyrics down), the part that said
‘do you remember as a little girl
You had a picture of the world
And you’d think about the great things you would find
The thing is 9-5
And a struggle to survive
Aint exactly what you had in mind
But that’s the beauty of life
It takes a while to find
And you can’t have your way all the time’

And I felt better because I've come to realise that sometimes its not the way we plan things they turn out to be. Well, am living my life and am enjoying every single bit of it!

GOODBYE HEARTBREAK(LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY)
Don't be blind
In all the fated life
Something great is happening in your life
But all the noise
Is drowning out your voice
No wonder you've been feeling down
From time to time
You know that you'll survive
The day you realise
You can't stop day from turning into night
Hey you know you're gonna live
To find another day
It is just today things aint so good
Get yourself back again
You've got so much love
That you can't afford to lose

Chorus: goodbye heartbreak
Don't look for me
Cause I don't need you now
So long heartache
Don't look for me
Cause I don't need you now
I don't need you x3
Hey
I don't need you now x3

Vs 2
Hey, do you remember as a girl
You had a picture of the world
And you'd think about the great things you would find
The thing is 9-5
And a struggle to survive
Aint exactly what you had in mind
But that's the beauty of life
It takes a while to find
And you can't have your own way all the time

Hey you know you're gonna live
To find another day
But it's just today things aint so good
Get yourself back again
You've got so much love
That you can't afford to lose

Chorus till fade
Y'all should download the song, trust me, you'll love it!

XOXO
